Movie- My Sister's Keeper
FROM THE SAME DIRECTOR AS THE 'NOTEBOOK'
'My Sister's Keeper' is a movie about the life of a family when one of their children get's very sick and is diaagnosed with cancer. This is a heart warming and touching film that is sure to bring a tear to the eye.
The movie begins with Kate being a very young child and her mother finds a mark on her back which is then diagnosed with cancer. Her parents then make a decision to have a baby made in test tubes to make sure that the new baby (named Anna) would be a perfect match to give Kate her body parts in order for Kate to stay alive.
Later on in the movie something brings up Anna's decision to stand up for herself and not agree to the operation in giving Kate her body parts. Her Mum dosn't take it well which then results in Anna going to court against her own Mum.
My friend reccemended this movie to me and I thought it was great!!! At some points it brought a tear to my eye (and I NEVER cry in movies).

Book- Born To Run by Michael Morpurgo
This is a charming story about the different lives one dog
faces.
“Born to run" by Michael Morpurgo
is a story about the life of a greyhound and the experiences he encounters. The
book is aimed at young teenagers. However, any dog lover will love this tale of
a greyhound that has three different (and very contrasting) owners for the
duration of this great book.
The story begins with Patrick a young
boy who was on his way to school and sees a bag floating in the canal which
seems to be moving. Without any worry for his own safety he jumps into the
canal and gets the bag onto dry land where he discovers the bag is full of
little greyhound pups. He becomes a hero in his school and after much persuading
with his parent's they allow him to keep one of the puppies who he names Best
Mate. And that is exactly what they become, best mates, inseparable enjoying
each other’s company. However, one day something happens to change all that and
Patrick and Best Mate become separated.
I read this when I was quite young at 8-9yrs
of age as I was a child who liked to challenge myself in my reading. I found it absolutely brilliant and I was
hooked the moment I started, it was my favourite book then and it still is now. It is very heart warming and touching
with some sad moments. I think that we can agree that not only the kids, but
the adults and animal lovers will absolutely love this book.
